CP+ 2026 Returns at Its Largest Scale Ever With a Record 149 Exhibitors

The Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA) has revealed the full program for CP+ 2026, running February 26 through March 1 at Pacifico Yokohama. With a record 149 companies and organizations confirmed to exhibit, this year’s edition of the world premiere show for cameras, photography, and imaging will be the biggest yet.

The hybrid event, combining a four-day on-site exhibition with an online program, builds on last year’s success, which drew approximately 56,000 visitors to the physical venue and 420,000 viewers online. CineD is attending this year’s show as an official CP+ Global Media Partner, and we will be bringing you full coverage from the show floor. Operating under the theme “Make your world pop,” CP+ 2026 positions itself as a celebration of visual culture, whether capturing everyday moments or special occasions.

Talk events and creator programs

A comprehensive lineup of stage events will bring some of Japan’s most acclaimed visual artists to Yokohama. Internationally recognized photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto headlines the speaker program alongside Kyoichi Tsuzuki, known for his distinctive cultural and urban explorations. The two will share a stage for a conversation that, according to the organizers, begins with photography but ventures into unexpected territory. Additional speakers include photographers Takashi Homma, Rinko Kawauchi, and Daisuke Yokota, all prominent figures in the contemporary Japanese photography scene.

For video production professionals specifically, the CREATORS EDGE Spring Edition returns, bringing together creators working across advertising, editorial, web content, music videos, fashion, and film. With CP+ increasingly expanding its scope beyond stills photography, this programming track reflects the growing convergence of photo and video workflows in the broader imaging industry.

Exhibitions celebrating photo culture

CP+ 2026 will host a diverse range of photography exhibitions open to both professionals and amateurs. The ZOOMS Photo Exhibition, which continues its collaborative relationship with France’s Salon de la Photo, will showcase winners from both the LES ZOOMS 2025 and ZOOMS JAPAN 2026 contests. The popular Cat Photo Exhibition returns with 100 curated images from cat photographers across Japan.

Student work receives dedicated space through two separate exhibitions. Photo Koshien 2025 features work from 18 high school photography clubs selected from over 500 participating schools nationwide, while the Student Club Works Exhibition brings together 30 photography and film clubs from Japanese universities. These exhibitions provide a window into the next generation of visual storytellers, something CP+ has increasingly prioritized in recent years.

Workshops, hands-on events, and family activities

A total of 23 workshop sessions have been designed for social media-savvy attendees and family groups. Topics range from smartphone vlog creation to photo frame keychain decoration and hair and makeup techniques for photography. CP+ continues to position itself as an event that welcomes not just seasoned professionals but also newcomers and younger audiences who are discovering visual storytelling through social media platforms.

The hugely popular Massive Toy Train Layout Giant Diorama returns at an even larger scale, alongside the CP+-exclusive Plush Toy Studio, a special photoshoot area capitalizing on the trending plushie photography culture popular among younger Japanese photographers. A Custom Button Badge Workshop will also be available, letting visitors of all ages turn their favorite photos and illustrations into wearable badges.

ZINES FAIR and CP+ Book Marche expand

The ZINES FAIR at CP+ returns at 1.5 times the scale of last year, reflecting the continued growth of independent publishing within the photography community. CP+ Book Marche, brought together by 19 media partners, expands further as a meeting point for creators and readers of photography books and magazines. Both events speak to a broader trend in the industry: the renewed appetite for physical, tactile photography experiences in an increasingly digital landscape.
