About us

Johnnie Behiri is a documentary filmmaker with more than three decades behind the camera: he learned the craft in daily television news gathering, filmed for Japan's public broadcaster NHK, and spent eight years shooting and editing for BBC News. He joined cinema5D in 2011 and has co-owned and co-run CineD and MZed ever since. Johnnie writes many of CineD's camera reviews, co-hosts our weekly Focus Check podcast, and heads CineD's manufacturer relationships and product development.

Nino Leitner, AAC is Co-CEO of CineD and MZed. He co-owns CineD (alongside Johnnie Behiri), through his company Nino Film GmbH. Nino is a cinematographer and producer, well-traveled around the world for his productions and filmmaking workshops. He specializes in shooting documentaries and commercials, and at times a narrative piece. Nino is a studied Master of Arts. He lives with his wife and two sons in Vienna, Austria.

Jackie is our campaign manager and the go-to person for manufacturers and companies advertising on our site. She also handles social media and graphic design as part of our marketing team. With a solid background in marketing, advertising, and PR, Jackie has spent seven years running an art blog and managing an online video podcast about Vienna's art scene.

Florian is the creator of the CineD Databases and works at CineD HQ in Vienna, Austria. His responsibilities include capturing B-Roll and product photos for reviews, occasionally writing reviews himself, coordinating website-related projects and lots more. He used to be a camera assistant for commercials and nature/wildlife documentaries and also worked for a film equipment rental for 8 years before joining CineD.

Slavik Boyechko is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker and helps manage MZed.com, the educational workshop subscription platform by CineD. He exercises his filmmaking muscles by doing video production in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Jeff Loch is a French freelance director, editor and colorist, working mostly on music videos, commercials, and corporate films.

Jakub Han is a freelance filmmaker based in Vienna. He is interested in new tech and trends in filmmaking and passionate about action sports and short documentaries. Jakub has over 10 years of experience with camera work and post-production.

Kiyoshi Inoue is our office manager of CineD Japan. He is also a freelance filmmaker, who is shooting the beautiful landscape of Japan in 4K. He was working for Sony in professional camcorder development.

Luciano Orlievsky is our CineD in Spanish manager operating from Buenos Aires, Argentina. By being an independent editor he has a strong background in the Television Industry.

Gunther heads the CineD Lab and is responsible for our standardized camera tests: dynamic range, exposure latitude, and rolling shutter, measured under identical conditions for every camera we review. He holds a PhD in fluid mechanics and has spent over two decades in engineering leadership and R&D, a background that shapes the rigor of our test methodology. Away from the test charts, he is a passionate filmmaker who cut his teeth on the Panasonic GH series, always keeping his gear as small as possible on his travels around the world.

Emmy winner, Graham Sheldon, resides in Southern California, where he works as a producer and director of photography. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America and ICG Local 600.

Mascha Deikova is a freelance director and writer based in Salzburg, Austria. She creates concepts for and works on commercials, music videos, corporate films, and documentaries. Mascha’s huge passion lies in exploring all the varieties of cinematic and narrative techniques to tell her stories.

Videographer with a deep audio background — including 7 years at a microphone manufacturer. Currently working in broadcast production and specialized in video podcast production. Co-founder of Yon.studio

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. Before moving to Vienna, I worked as a photographer on film sets, telling stories as they unfolded behind the scenes. Since then, I’ve focused on immersive theater, both as a photographer and an actor. I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval ensemble, documenting the energy and atmosphere of their performances. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
