Audio Design Desk v1.9 adds Stream Deck and DAW Integration

Audio Design Desk – also known as add.app – is an easy-to-use audio tool to add sound effects, foley, and music to your video. The company recently released Audio Design Desk v1.9 that adds Stream Deck and DAW integration and numerous new functionalities like Auto-Compose, MIDI triggers, and variations. Let’s take a closer look at this update!

If you’re new to Audio Design Desk, we have already talked about this audio post-production tool numerous times since its introduction in 2020. In a nutshell, here is how this standalone application works: load your video onto the software, and by playing with your computer’s keyboard, you start adding foley sounds, music, sound FX, and so on to it.

The idea behind add.app is to save you hours of work because your video is playing in real-time, and you can quickly add sounds by typing on your keyboard while watching the video. Audio Design Desk v1.9 speeds up the process even further with various integrations like Stream Deck, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, and so on.

Audio Design Desk v1.9 – what’s new

According to Audio Design Desk’s CEO Gabriel Cowan, “the release of 1.9 works seamlessly with virtually every audio and video editing tool from Premiere to Final Cut Pro to Pro Tools to Logic.” Indeed, it seems like the team behind add.app put a lot of work and effort into creating an easier-than-ever experience for content creators.

Here is a complete list of all the new features and improvements in Audio Design Desk v1.9:

  • Auto-Compose: if you put markers inside Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and even Frame.io, Audio Design Desk can create a sound pass the moment you drag your video into the timeline.
  • Stacks: this new non-destructive way allows you to stack any number of sounds into a single region that can be unstacked and changed at any time.
  • Variations: Audio Design Desk can automatically create any number of variations of combined sounds. One beat can become 100 (or more) with the click of a button.
  • MIDI triggers: with a MIDI keyboard, you can now perform sounds and control functions.
  • Intelligent import: if you use Splice, LoopCloud, Pro Sound Effects or Boom Library, you can use Audio Design Desk to automatically determine the right metadata and add them to sounds.
  • DAW integration: Audio Design Desk v1.9 integrates with Pro Tools, Logic, Live, Cubase, Digital Performer, Nuendo, and Reaper, functioning like a giant plug-in within these industry standard tools.
  • Stream Deck integration

Audio Design Desk Lite

Also, Audio Design Desk released a Lite version that gives you access to more than 40.000+ sounds, loops, and music cues. However, this Lite version has some restrictions, like the number of maximum tracks (eight) or the number of regions (fifty).
