FXLION has just introduced the latest addition to their popular NANO V-Mount battery series: the FXLION NANO THREE. This battery packs a capacity of 150Wh in an extremely compact form factor. The new battery is now available for purchase for $369.
A few weeks ago we covered the release of the Core SWX NANO Micro 150, a high-capacity, but still compact V-mount battery pack. It looks like FXLION is trying to compete directly with this product by introducing the NANO THREE.
This new 150Wh version completes the FXLION NANO series along with the NANO ONE (50Wh) and NANO TWO (98Wh) models. Let’s take a closer look.
This battery has a high capacity of 150Wh (14.8V, 6.8Ah) that should provide long running times on most cameras. The battery supports a maximum working current of 10A.
The brick measures 103 x 74 x 75 mm in size and it weighs 773g: a slim and compact design overall, considering its capacity.
Unlike the Core SWX NANO Micro 150, which is also available in Gold Mount, the NANO THREE is a V-Mount-only battery.
Like the other models in the NANO series, the NANO THREE offers several input and output options. The Core SWX NANO Micro 150, with its single D-Tap and USB-A ports, lacks this high degree of flexibility. The FXLION NANO THREE features:
The Micro USB port featured on the 50 and 98Wh models, has been removed on the NANO THREE.
The battery has a 4-stage status LED on the main button as well as a built-in LCD that reports the remaining capacity and voltage. The display also shows the voltage status of the USB-A and USB-C ports.
Furthermore, all ports are protected by a rubber lid that should defend them from dust and moisture.
FXLION is clearly trying to sell this battery to RED Komodo users. Indeed, it might be the ideal solution for powering this camera model, especially if you’re using the popular TILTA V-Mount power adapter. In fact, this battery plate requires micro-size batteries to avoid obstructing the I/O ports of the Komodo.
Being a RED Komodo owner myself, I opted for the FXLion NANO ONE and TWO batteries over their Core SWX counterparts because of the additional info on the built-in LCD screen as well as extra I/O options. Nonetheless, the Core SWX NANO Micro 150 is a little smaller and lighter than the NANO THREE and it also offers a 12A continuous draw (16A peak).
If you’re looking for a long-lasting V-mount battery to keep your camera package slim, you should definitely check out the FXLION NANO THREE. The battery is now available for purchase for $369. You can find the nearest dealer on FXLION’s website.
