American manufacturer MUTINY recently launched an exciting accessory for Canon shooters: a Bolt-On V2 R/S trigger. As its name suggests, this trigger attaches via a 1/4″-20 screw to a cage/top handle/tripod, for example, and allows you to start and stop your camera’s recording. So let’s take a closer look at it!
MUTINY is a relatively new third-party accessory manufacturer with a good reputation for its RED-oriented products, including the RED KOMODO NANO and NANO+ BP plate mounts or the V-RAPTOR IO port expander.
The company is now back with one of its first products for Canon cameras: the MUTINY Bolt-On V2 R/S trigger, which was already available for the RED KOMODO/V-Raptor.
The MUTINY Bolt-On V2 R/S trigger consists of two components:
As you can see, two versions are available-one with a 12″/30cm straight cable and one with a 13″-36″/33-91cm coiled cable. All versions are compatible with several Canon cameras, including the EOS R5, R5 C, and R3, but also with the EOS 1D X Mark 1-3 and 5D Mark 2-4. Unfortunately, this R/S trigger is not compatible with the Canon EOS C70.
The MUTINY Bolt-On V2 R/S trigger for Canon cameras is available now for $110 with your choice of straight or coiled cable. Also, if you already have a trigger button for your RED KOMODO/V-Raptor, you can get yourself the Canon 3 Pin to 3.5mm cable for only $30.
For more information, please visit MUTINY’s website here.
What do you think about this start/stop trigger button? Would it be a helpful addition to your rig? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments down below!
