Best Cameras – under $5,000

This is not yet the money-no-object category, but it certainly houses cameras that are above average. You will find full-fledged mirrorless cameras with dedicated cine modes as well as proper filmmaking machines.

Since cameras that are getting more and more expensive tend to sacrifice certain features (automatic modes, gigantic zoom ranges, etc.) in exchange for a focus on image quality and build quality, be aware that you’ll definitely need at least some accessories for these upper-tier cameras.

A decent cage, spare batteries, a base plate, maybe a viewfinder. Higher-end gear will require more accessories, and a full-blown rig is usually quite large. But the image quality you get from cameras in this price range is definitely worth it!
